Church 'celebrates life' with guest lecturer

The Westlake Church of Religious Science will host Barton Goldsmith, PhD, as the guest speaker at the 10 a.m. "Celebration of Life" service Sun., Feb. 18. His topic will be "Overcoming Adversity."

Goldsmith will also present an afternoon workshop from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on the subject of "Emotional Fitness: Relationships That Work!"

A voluntary offering will be taken in the morning, and the cost for the workshop is $25 for church members and $25 for preregistered. Nonmember cost is $30 and at the door is $35.

The two presentations are open to the public.

Goldsmith is a licensed marriage and family therapist, syndicated columnist, radio host on KCLU/NPR, internationally recognized counselor, author and speaker who has appeared on and been quoted by numerous TV and radio shows as well as national magazines including Cosmopolitan and Family Circle.

Goldsmith works with couples and individuals on issues ranging from addiction and infidelity to trauma and abuse and is a certified addictions counselor.
