Gail Marie Bush, 39, formerly of Thousand Oaks, pleaded guilty to felony perjury and grand theft of more than $10,500 from the Housing Authority of the county of Ventura.

Bush lived in housing subsidized under the HUD Section 8 program. From June 2002 to February 2003, Bush knowingly misstated her household income under oath to the Housing Authority. As a result of this fraud, she qualified for subsidized housing.

Bush faces a maximum sentence of four years, eight months in prison and a maximum fine of $20,000. The district attorney is also recommending that the defendant be required to pay full restitution of $10,587 plus interest to the Housing Authority.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for June 18.
