CSUCI center offers local lecture series

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute of Cal State Channel Islands will begin a lecture series at the CSUCI Extended Education Center, 501 Marin St. in Thousand Oaks.

A series of eight different short courses, "Intellectual Buffet: A Taste of OLLI," will be on eight consecutive Saturdays, 10 a.m. to noon, beginning March 31.

This series showcases the diverse topics available at OLLI, from Beatles to Beethoven, marine biology to blues, banned books to evolution and creationism, and the modern presidency to origins of legal language.

The series is assisted by a city of Thousand Oaks Community Events Endowment.

Participants of all ages may enroll for any number of the modules. Preregistration is encouraged. Enrollment is possible at each lecture if seats remain, but seating isn't guaranteed.

The single lecture fee is $10. The entire series package is $65.
