Race issues to be discussed at CLU during Black History Month As part of the celebration of Black History Month, Gerald Horne, PhD, will discuss the past and future of race relations between African Americans and Latinos at 10 a.m. Fri., Feb. 9 at California Lutheran University in the Roth Nelson Room. In his lecture, Horne will draw from his book "Black and Brown: African Americans and the Mexican Revolution, 1910-1920." Horne, the John and Rebecca Moores chair of history and African American studies at the University of Houston, is the author of more than 17 books and 100 scholarly articles and reviews. His research has addressed issues of race in a variety of settings, including labor, politics, civil rights and war. The event, sponsored by CLU's Gender and Ethnic Studies Program, is free and open to the public.
