Cancer society donates money to Wellness Community program
      The Jennifer Diamond Cancer Foundation has donated $5,000 to help underwrite a portion of the Wellness Community Valley/Ventura Kid's Circle program for 2007. The funds will help support the Tuesday afternoon program for children between the ages of 5 and 11 who have a parent or a grandparent with cancer.

Blood donors needed
      United Blood Services, Central Coast has released a critical appeal for O positive, B positive and A negative blood types. The community's blood supply is reliant on volunteers to host blood drives and give blood. According to United Blood Services officials, drives usually pick up in January, but a trend of last-minute cancellations that caused concern in December has continued in the new year.
