Diverse programs offered at Goebel Senior Center in Thousand Oaks

Trips, seminars, support groups and income tax preparation are available at the Goebel Senior Adult Center, 1385 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. Fri., Feb. 9 for trips to be taken in April. Descanso Gardens, Norton Simon Museum and lunch at McCormick & Schmick's Seafood restaurant are the destinations on Thurs., April 12. Other trips that month will be for Santa Anita and a chocolate tour through Los Angeles.

Special trips in March include Laughlin, the Crystal Cathedral and a culinary tour of L.A.

February seminars include Laughter Unlimited from 3 to 4 p.m. Mon., Feb. 5 and Credit Cards from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Wed., Feb. 14. Among other activities offered are a discussion about travel experiences with Irma Kackert, a nineball billiards tournament and a survival training forum.

Support groups for Alzheimer's, arthritis, widows/ widowers and grief are available. The Braille Institute offers community outreach and low vision evaluation.

An income tax preparation service is offered from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays through April 13. No appointment is necessary.
