Local bands to perform at 'Rock the Oaks'
Four local bands will "Rock the Oaks" at 7:30 p.m. Fri., Feb. 23 at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Countrywide Performing Arts Center, Janet and Ray Scherr Forum Theatre, 2100 Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks.
This is the seventh annual concert featuring local bands performing for Conejo Valley teens.
The bands are Blacklist, Kerascene, Priscilla Eve and Full Switch Coma.
Blacklist is an alternative rock band that played recent shows at the Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood and the Alpine in Ventura. Power trio Kerascene (formerly The Bassix) return to Rock the Oaks for the second year in a row with their classic rock and roll sound, described as "Eric Clapton meets John Mayer."
Seventeen-year-old singer/ songwriter Priscilla Eve's Argentinean background inspired her to write rockpopjazzacoustic songs in both English and Spanish.
Full Switch Coma describe themselves as "an alternative rock band with punk influences" and regularly perform all around the Southern California area at venues such as the Whisky A Go Go, the Roxy and the Ventura Theatre.
"Rock the Oaks" is sponsored by the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Foundation and presented by the Thousand Oaks Youth Commission.
Tickets are $15 and are available from Ticketmaster or the Civic Arts Plaza box office at 2100 Thousand Oaks Blvd.
