Mixed use with better restaurants recommended for T.O. Boulevard

Reader Robert Hull responded to our Acorn Soundoff question from last week, "What would you like to see built or improved on Thousand Oaks Boulevard?"

I would like T.O. Boulevard to have a pedestrian-friendly area with a mix of restaurants, galleries and retail stores in a mixed-use development.

This town desperately needs great restaurants. Take a look at how Mountain View, Calif. has a great downtown pedestrian mall of restaurants and stores. Please find more information at www.greenbelt.org/getinvolved/ outings/urbanoutings/mtview/ index.html.

A typical building would have a commercial business on the first floor and housing on upper floors.

As mentioned earlier, we need more great restaurants in our town. We have the demographics to support great restaurants like in Palo Alto. However, our best restaurant is Bandits.

I like Bandits and I enjoy barbecue. However, we need more diversity and better quality of food. Robert Hull Newbury Park
