Reduce risk of heart disease
      A free public education program on the prevention of heart disease will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sat., Feb. 10 at the Four Seasons Hotel, 2 Dole Drive, Westlake Village. The symposium will cover the causes and risk factors that contribute to heart disease, diagnostic and treatment options, and practical preventive strategies the public can use to reduce the risk of cardiac problems.

More than 54 million Americans are on their way to developing diabetes, and many don't even know it. They have a condition called prediabetes, which means their blood glucose levels are higher than normal, but not yet high enough to be diabetic.

      Shuttle transportation from T.O. to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Woodland Hills will begin Thurs., Feb. 1. Primarily a service for Conejo Valley seniors, the shuttle will operate three round trips per day on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
