She will be cleaning up after her horse She will be cleaning up after her horse After reading "Riders should clean up after their horses" in the Jan. 4 Opinion section of your paper, I had mixed feelings. At first I was angry. Then, after thinking about the writer's comments, I agreed. I am an equestrian and have to ride along residential streets to get to the trails. On occasion, my horse will leave droppings. If I'm on a residential street, I will dismount and pick up after him. I carry plastic bags and a small dustpan for this purpose, which I store in my saddlebag. I can usually toss the bags in an available trash can. I know it sounds a little strange, but I respect my neighbors and feel that horse droppings should be treated the same as dogs'.Ginny BowersNewbury Park |
