Hoop fanatic enjoys practice
      'WATCH OUT, KOBE'- Francesco Setola, 17, of Newbury Park practices layups at Borchard Community Center. Francesco plays with the Newbury Park Basketball Association Community League and comes to the center three times a week after school to practice and scrimmage. The center's hours are 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 6 p.m.Saturday and Sunday.

A shiny lowrider
      EYE-CATCHER- Thousand Oaks siblings Greg Ohmer, 14, a Westlake High School freshman, and Donald, 11, a Los Cerritos Middle School sixth-grader, inspect a customized chopper owned by Orange County Chopper's Mikey Teutul at the Rock Store in rural Agoura on Saturday. The Teutul family's "American Chopper" television show is scheduled to debut on The Learning Channel tonight at 9 p.m.

Russian ballet comes to T.O.
      BEAUTY AND GRACE- The Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Foundation will present Moscow Festival Ballet's "Sleeping Beauty" in the Fred Kavli Theatre at 2:30 p.m. Sun., Feb. 4. Local libraries offer story times for preschoolers and toddlers
      Children ages 3 to 5 are invited to participate in a story time series for preschoolers at the Newbury Park Library, 2331 Borchard Road, Newbury Park. "Stories to share with preschoolers" will be 1 p.m. Tuesdays, Jan. 23 through March 13. Each 30-minute program features stories and songs.
