Senior Center offers income tax return filing assistance

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service, will provide free income tax assistance to seniors age 60 or older and/or people with incomes of $39,500 or less.

The service will be offered Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 1 through April 13 at the Goebel Senior Adult Center, 1385 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.

Appointments are unnecessary, however, the service is provided in person only- phone calls won't be accepted.

Participants should bring photo ID, Social Security cards and benefit statements, wage and earning statements, interest and dividend statements from banks, sale of stock or mutual funds, copy of last year's returns, bank routing numbers and account numbers for direct deposit, other information about income and expenses. Do not bring rental or profit/loss schedules.
