See the stars by making your own telescope

John Dobson will be the speaker at the Ventura County Astronomical Society meeting at 7:30 p.m. Fri., Jan. 19 in the multipurpose room at Mesa Union School, 3901 N. Mesa School Road in Somis.

The public is invited.

Dobson will discuss how “the riches of the heavens are there for the taking by anyone with a few simple materials.”

Dobson perfected the art of making homemade telescopes and has been called a “living legend” by amateur astronomers.
