Chamber announces new board

The Thousand OaksWestlake Village Regional Chamber of Commerce announced the new board of directors for 2007.

Ken Doyle, director of marketing for Warner Pacific Insurance, is the new chairman of the board. John Dokken, former director of external affairs for Verizon, is chair emeritus; Robert Cabral of Robert Cabral Consulting is secretary; and Susan Murata, CFO of Silver Star Automotive Group, is treasurer.

The board of directors represents the interests of the major corporations and privately owned businesses in the communities.

The 2007 board of directors includes: Cheryl Alatorre, Countrywide Financial; Robert Allison, California Lutheran University; Lisa Bailey, Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village; Mark Boos Benhard, MBB Communications; Graham Brearley, Baxter BioScience; Bob Devereux, State Farm Insurance; Megan Fox, Amgen; Madeline Hess, Sage Publications; Michael V. Howe, WellPoint; Yoon Hugh, Dole Food Company; Mark T. Jessee, Law Offices of Mark T. Jessee; Tony Kourounis, National Bank of California; Rick Lemmo, Caruso Affiliated; Alexander Lopez, Chatsworth Products; Jim Overholt, Living Oaks

Community Church; Nicole Schmitt, The Oaks mall; Gary Wartik, city of Thousand Oaks; and Mike Wildermuth, Nevers, Palazzo, Maddux & Packard.

Under the leadership of last year’s chairman of the board, John Dokken, the Chamber increased its membership, held numerous sold-out events and attained U.S. Chamber of Commerce fourstar accreditation, the highest rating in California.

A “19th Hole” recognition dinner and gala honoring the past board and installing the new board of directors will be on March 9 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Westlake Village.
