Orchestral group hosts fundraiser

Concertos with Orchestra, Thousand Oaks, a nonprofit educational organization that sponsors The CWOTO Orchestra, will present a series of piano recitals by alumni soloists. The recitals will be Jan. 3 through 6 at the Marian Hall for the Performing Arts, 1304 Marian Ave., Thousand Oaks.

Doors open at 6:45 p.m. Prerecital lectures covering the repertoire to be performed will be given by various board members, and the recitals will start at 7:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

Performing Wed., Jan. 3 are award-winning students from the Conejo Valley area, including Giselle Chang, Joshua Hong, Michael Liu, James Cassell, Lisa Rotenstein and Gordon Wong.

Gary Chan, a candidate in the Virginia Waring International Piano Competition, will be featured Jan. 4.

Alexander Wasserman, an Artist Diploma candidate at the Peabody Institute of Music, will play Jan. 5.

Sean Y. Chen, a student at the Juilliard School in New York, will perform Jan. 6.

The tax-deductible donation entry fee for the fundraising event is $100 for the series, or $30 for each concert. Students will be admitted at half-price.
