Take a ride on the North Pole Express in Fillmore The Fillmore & Western Railway will offer special train rides in December in celebration of the holiday season. The North Pole Express departs 6 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday through Dec. 23 from Fillmore’s Central Park and returns at 7:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to wear pajamas and bring a warm blanket and teddy bear for the ride. The train will have elves leading carols, a storyteller reading a Christmas story, and a cookie and chocolate milk for each guest. After picking up Santa Claus at the North Pole, the train returns to Santa’s Village with snow, lights, carousel, Tubs o’ Fun ride, food booth, and arts and craft vendors. Tickets are $22 for adults, $12 for children ages 4 to 12, free for children 2 and under. The Dinner with Santa train leaves Fillmore 5:30 p.m. Sundays through Dec. 24 and returns about 7:30 p.m. Guests will dine with Santa, sing carols and have photos taken with Santa. Adult tickets are $44, children 3 to 12 years are $23, and children 2 years and under are $7 for the ride only. The Christmas Tree Train runs every Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 24 with 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. departures each day. Guests ride to the tree farm to cut down their own tree. Tickets are $21 for adults, $11 for youth ages 4 to 12 and $7 for children 3 and under. Train fare does not include the cost of trees and netting.
