William Craddick named Very Important Student

Col. Patrick Carey presented William Craddick with the Very Important Student Award before he addressed members and guests of the World Affairs Council of America, California Central Coast at the council's Nov. 15 dinner in Agoura Hills.

The award recognizes outstanding students. Craddick, a Westlake Village resident and

sophomore at Trinity Pacific Christian School in Newbury Park, has participated in humanitarian aid trips to Cuba and the Philippines and plans to study international affairs.

Carey is deputy director of operations for U.S. Central Command, which coordinates all military special operations in 27 countries, including Iraq and Afghanistan.
