Free living nativity to be presented

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will reenact a free living nativity portrayed by more than 40 youth and adult members from 7 to 7:30 p.m. Fri. and Sat., Dec. 8 and 9 at the Newbury Park Stake Center, 35 S. Wendy Drive, Newbury Park. Families and friends are invited.

The live re-enactment of the events leading up to the birth of Jesus will be accompanied by recordings from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Guests should dress warmly and bring blankets or lawn chairs.

A crche display and light refreshments will be available inside the church after the outdoor program is complete.

The church will also present the annual Christmas Choir concert at 6 and 8 p.m. Sun., Dec. 10, also at the stake center. Arrive early for good seating.

The performance will include spiritual music and traditional favorites sung by the Newbury Park Stake Choir, specialty groups and selected solos.

The conductor is Frank Turner, director of the Southern California Mormon Choir. Jodi Ream will direct the Newbury Park Children's Choir.
