Liked the editorial Your editorial regarding the constant complainers about The Oaks mall renovation was right on --''City should approve expansion plans for The Oaks'' (Sept. 14 Thousand Oaks Acorn). While I've only lived out here for three years, I have become involved with my community (as I was down in the Venice/Marina del Rey area where I lived for 23 years) and have been amazed to see some of these same people do nothing but go on and on saying the same thing over and over. Rather then move forward and find ways to make things better, all they seem to want to do is obstruct and berate those they disagree with. What a waste of time and energy, especially at the City Council meetings, when these same people have to have something to say--usually always negative--on each council item. Anyway, I just thought I'd let you know that there are certainly more people out here who agree with what you said than disagree. I'm sure you know that it's just usually the ones who disagree that take the time to write or call. Keep up the good fight. Howard R. Weisenfeld Westlake Village |
