Run to fight cancer

The Conejo Valley Relay for Life will begin 10 a.m. Sat., Sept. 30 and end 10 a.m. Sun., Oct. 1 at Newbury Park High School's Panther Stadium. The event is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

Teams will gather and take turns walking or running the track for 24 hours. Each group must have at least one person on the track at all times because "cancer never sleeps."

Luminarias will be lit on Saturday night to honor those who have died to cancer. Survivors are invited to walk in the event's final lap on Sunday morning.

The cost to participate is $15 per person.
