ConejoFest helps charities with food, wine, fun

Conejo Valley's premier wine-tasting event, ConejoFest, will include more than a dozen food vendors this year. The third-annual event, a fundraiser for the Kiwanis Club of Thousand Oaks, will be from noon to about 5 p.m. Sun., Sept. 24 on the lawn of the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.

For those who love sweet, tangy south-of-the-border cuisine, Los Agaves Mexican Grill will pique your taste buds.

Do you like tasty, fresh homemade sandwiches on the best of whole grain breads? Harvest Bread Company has your spread.

How about a mouth-watering, grilled-to-perfection steak? Ruth's Chris Steakhouse will be a special treat for you.

Other favorites will include California Pizza Kitchen, Borderline, Marmalade Café, Piatti's, The Healing Tree, Treasured Friends, Peet's Coffee and Tea and Mandevilla. Caterers will also be featured, including Sunset Terrace, Let's Get Cookin' and Steve's Catering.

More than 40 wineries will be featured.

Your admission ticket includes a free wine glass.

Art exhibits, cooking presentations, a scotch-tasting seminar, cigar-rolling and other vendor booths will also participate.

It's all for just $40 per person. For those who would like to attend but prefer nonalcoholic beverages, admission is only $25.

Proceeds will go to the Kiwanis Foundation, which supports local charities.
