Chabad to host lecture tonight

At 8 p.m. tonight, Thurs., Sept. 7, Rabbi Danny Cohen from Hebron will lecture on "From Hebron to Agoura Hills" at the Conejo Jewish Academy, 30345 Canwood St., Agoura Hills. Admission is free.

Hebron is adjacent to the Cave of the Patriarchs, the property that patriarch Abraham purchased as a burial place for his wife, Sarah, 4,000 years ago.

In his presentation Cohen will discuss his firsthand experience living with the settlers who established the modern Jewish community in Hebron, what it is like to live under the threat of terror and the many ways his role, as the Chabad emissary in Hebron, is unique: serving chicken soup to soldiers on rooftop duty guard Friday nights; erecting a giant Menorah on the hill of Abu Sneh and reviving the study of Chassidus in the city that was once the Chabad capital of Eretz Yisroel.
