MARKING A MILESTONE-Residents of Nowak Avenue in Thousand Oaks are celebrating 40 years of quiet living on their street. At least one couple, Joe and June Smolarski, moved into their home when it was first built, and they still live there. Engaging here in a tug of war are children who live on the street. The 40th anniversary block party was celebrated on Labor Day.
