La Reina High School fall classes set to open Aug. 23

La Reina High School, a private all-girls' Catholic school at 106 W. Janss Road in Thousand Oaks, opens for the new semester on Wed., Aug. 23 with classes for new students from 8:10 a.m. until noon. Classes for existing students will start next Thurs., Aug. 24 and parents are invited to a coffee hosted by the Parent Guild at 7:30 a.m.

The Parent Guild will also host a welcoming dinner for new students and their parents at 4:30 p.m., Sat. Aug. 26. Reservations can be made by calling Patty Tudman at (805) 9177112.

Campus improvements made over the summer include a new senior patio with artificial turf, seating and upgraded land

scaping. Ten classrooms now have ceiling-mounted digital projection systems which enable students to view the Internet and computer or audio-visual programs.
