Conejo Players present comedy It's "comedy tonight" when the Conejo Players present the musical farce "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," written by Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, from Fri., Aug. 25 through Sat., Sept. 23. Showtimes are 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. According to the theater, this fast-paced comedy combines the 2,000-year-old comedies of the Roman playwright Palutus with classic vaudeville. Pseudolus, a crafty slave, schemes to win the hand of a beautiful but slow-witted courtesan, Philia, for his young master, Hero, in exchange for his freedom. The cast includes Sean Harrington, Mischa Pollack, Brent Ramirez, Jennifer Cariker, Celeste Russi, Robert West, Ted West, Ross Araujo, Bob Decker, Paul Panico, Aaron Vidal, Renee Smith, Angela Garcia, Shannon Sullivan, Erin Cariker, Lisa Lucht, Linda Schaver and Isabella Van Etten.
