Three OCHS football players crack ESPN's top 10 The preseason accolades just keep piling up for the Oaks Christian football team. OCHS has three players ranked among the top 10 in the nation for the Class of 2007 in the recently released ESPN Top 150 for high school football recruits. Quarterback Jimmy Clausen was rated the No. 1 overall prep player. Clausen has already committed to play for Notre Dame. Marc Tyler, the Lions' multitalented running back, was ranked the No. 3 recruit nationwide and the top player at his position. Safety Marshall Jones was ranked ninth. Both Tyler and Jones have committed to play at USC in the fall. Another Oaks Christian player on the Top 150 list was defensive lineman Michael Ebbitt, who garnered the No. 132 ranking. Ebbitt hasn't made a college commitment to date. Oaks Christian was the only school in the United States to have four of its players make the list. No other team had more than two players crack the Top 150. In an interview with The Acorn last month, OCHS head coach Bill Redell said the Lions could have two nationally televised games this season, against St. Bonaventure and Venice High. - Stephen Dorman |
