School district would work better without Michael Dunn I wonder if (Conejo Valley Unified School District trustee) Mr. (Michael) Dunn and the few who are mistakenly supporting him have ever heard of the saying "If it's not broken, don't try to fix it." Before Mr. Dunn joined the board, this school district was considered to be in the top 10 out of over 200 school districts in the state of California. People purposely moved into this area because of our school district. The four board members that Mr. Dunn is continually printing lies and false allegations against have worked hard for many years to make this district what it is and have the schools and the kids as their constant priority. I find it very interesting that all of the board members, with the exception of Mr. Dunn, frequently visit the schools, attend award ceremonies and attend conferences to learn about new programs and ways they can continually improve the district. I wonder why he feels this isn't his responsibility as a board member. I also find it interesting that all new incoming board members attend special training to learn about board procedures and protocol, but Mr. Dunn feels this is indoctrination. Yet he can spend all kinds of wasted time stirring up trouble when, had he attended the training, it may have prevented things like the current lawsuit the teachers' union has against him. Wouldn't the time and money be better spent on our kids and schools? Mr. Dunn, you say you stand for the parents and for family values. The way you behave is an embarrassment and is the opposite of the definition of family values. All the parents and the voters of this district have to do is look at your record since you've been on the board and it will be quite clear that something is broken now and that is your seat on the board. The way to fix it is to have you removed. Ann Kowell Thousand Oaks |
