Families to remember lost loved ones

Buena Vista Hospice Care Inc. is hosting its inaugural Butterfly Remembrance Ceremony to honor past patients and their families at 10 a.m. Sat., July 15 at Triunfo Community Park, 980 Aranmoor, Westlake Village. There's no cost to attend.

The ceremony is an opportunity for people to laugh, cry and celebrate the lives of friends and family who have died. All hospice families and the community are welcome to attend.

The service will include music, prayer, poetry, meditation and a butterfly releasing ceremony. Attendees may bring a photo, poem or memory to share.

Music therapist Paula Marie Jones and youth harpists will provide music.

A light breakfast will be served. Buena Vista Hospice Care is a locally-owned Medicare-certified hospice, serving the west San Fernando Valley and Ventura County.

To reach the park, exit the 101 Freeway at Westlake Boulevard and turn south. Make a right turn at Hampshire, left turn at Triunfo Canyon Road and continue for about a half mile. Turn right into the park and left into the parking lot. The service will be at the lower level near the playground and tennis courts.
