Conejo Players to present 'The Seven Year Itch'

The Conejo Players will present "The Seven Year Itch," a comedy by George Axelrod, at 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, June 16 to July 15, at their theatre, 351 S. Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks. Two matinees will be available at 2 p.m. Sundays, June 18 and July 9.

Tickets range from $14 to $18 and are available by calling (805) 495-3715.

In "The Seven Year Itch," the foibles and fantasies of Richard

Sherman (Mark Fagundes) are examined. His wife, Helen (Laura Weintraub) and his daughter, Becky (Isabella Van Etten) have gone to the shore for the summer. When Richard meets The Girl (Randi Saxer), who has sublet the apartment upstairs, his imagination and his libido run wild.

The voices of Richard's conscience are three women from his every day life: Miss Morris (Rachel Kroner), Elaine (Judy Diderrich), and Marie (Lauren Lees.) Their efforts to keep Richard on the "straight and narrow" are valiant, but less than successful. As Rich

ard finds himself weakening in the face of temptation, he justifies his actions by blaming Tom Mackenzie (Paul Fanning), who he is sure has

designs on his wife. Even the learned advice of the psychiatrist Dr. Brubaker (John Eslick) fails to save Richard from himself.
