Responding to board member Tim Stephens' May 11 letter in the Thousand Oaks Acorn criticizing trustee Mike Dunn, here are some questions you can ask boardmembers Stephens, Phelps, Didio and Beaubien.

Why did they give themselves a 5 percent pay raise when the employees only got 2 percent? The vote was 4-1, Dunn opposed.

How much money have they taken from the big unions and other special interests? Hint: about $16,000, source: 42 pages, Forms 460, Ventura County Elections Division.

Why did they reject three traditional textbooks and instead vote for a textbook which redefines marriage when the statement cards ran 6 to 1 against the "politically correct" textbook? The vote was 4-1, Dunn opposed.

Why does the school board meet the same day and time as the city council? The vote was 4-1, Dunn opposed.

Why did they spend $88 million of 15-year Measure R Bond money in just 71/2 years?

Why did they pass resolutions condemning the governor when the board is supposed to be nonpartisan?

Why didn't the teachers get more time off before Christmas? The vote was 4-1, Dunn opposed.

Why did they refuse to read the petition from 223 Cypress Elementary School parents and students when it was presented to them?
