Gibson can blame own negativism, not his opponent's Regarding "Supervisor Linda Parks reelected for second term," Joe Gibson attributes his loss to the "negativity of the campaign." This nonsense cannot go unchallenged. I received three campaign mailers from Parks, which emphasized her accomplishments in office, her dedication to preserving the environment, and her endorsements by the Ventura County Deputy Sheriffs' and Professional Firefighters' associations. In stark contrast, Gibson's mailers included an anonymous postcard pretending to be a government poll, untrue accusations that Parks abandoned our kids and seniors, and that the Thousand Oaks City Council majority and their appointee supported him, not her. Whose negativity is he blaming for his 36 to 64 percent loss I wonder? Nora Aidukas Thousand Oaks Aidukas serves as Parks' ap- pointee to the Ventura County Planning Commission. |
