Happy Father's Day!

My 83-year-old father, Ray Nosco, has been an inspiration and my best friend. He lost his youngest son, my little brother in 2004 to a terrible vehicle accident and only six weeks later, he lost his wife of 54 years to cancer, all the while still being able to remain strong in his faith in God and his love of his family. He lives life to the fullest, is kind and loving. He is a man's man. Jack Nosco Newbury Park

My Dad is special because growing up he always made me feel special. He always had time for me, which is amazing in a family of seven.I have wonderful memories of just him and me going on picnics and hikes and taking just me out to lunch for my birthday.Thank you, Dad, for making me feel special, and teaching me to stop and smell the roses, literally! I love you Dad! Diane Ferry Thousand Oaks

Matthew Siegel Thousand Oaks   My Dad is special in many ways; he coaches my baseball team, he is my Cub Scout den leader, my pitching coach, he helps my teacher in math, he keeps score for my basketball team, he talks to me when I've had bad days, he immediately takes me to the hospital, when I need medical help, surgery or an injury, he makes me nice meals, and finally he gives me snacks before baseball games. I'm lucky to have a crazy Dad so I can do all these things. My Dad is No.1! My Dad is wonderful. Scott, 7, Newbury Park

Pap,

This message is for the purpose of letting you know how fortunate I feel to have you as my father. From my childhood to adulthood you are always there for me. I have so many great memories of times we spent together like our skiing trips and fishing trips. The time you taught me how to ride a bike and then drive a car. You taught me how to be responsible with money and with life in general. I thank God that my daughters have the opportunity to love you the way I do.I love you! Christian Ofer Thousand Oaks

I want the world to know why my dad is special. He is always there for me when I need him. He is kind, nice, funny and always on time (well sometimes). He loves to play basketball. He takes me places I want to go, but he really doesn't. He looks out for me and encourages me to learn and get better at things like math and sports.

He plays the guitar to me every night. He is the best dad in the world. I would never trade him for anything because he loves me and I love him. Bridget Flynn Thousand Oaks

There are many reasons why my father's truly special. He properly emphasized education and pushed me to do my very best, which then led me to great heights at college and graduate school. Dad taught me the value of money, how to take good care of a family, a home and a car. He's spent the past 20 years building school projects throughout Southern California. He's the leader of our extended family, always hosting large get-togethers.

My father is a vibrant energetic man and a great cook. He has a passion for life and a great love for his family. Nader Heydari Thousand Oaks

My father, Larry Terrazas, is a man that puts himself last and everyone else first. He is so generous to me and my brother. He coaches games and shows up to our plays, and if I'm in the talent show, he's there. I remember when I was little, I fell asleep on his chest every time I took a nap. He was always so protective of me, but that's what I like about being my daddy's little girl. I know he loves me no matter what, as long as I don't get any tattoos. Alexa Terrazas Thousand Oaks

This is the first Father's Day he won't be here in my 53 years. We knew last Father's Day was in fact his last one. But my father will be with me always as he was when he walked here on earth.

I know he is in heaven with all the rest of the best. God bless him. Sue Scudder Thousand Oaks

When I was a child, my Dad would hold my face in his hands, look into my eyes and say "Beautiful Belle." He also called me his "little brain surgeon." I'm 41 now.

I've never won a beauty contest, and I'm not even a college graduate yet.

His honest confidence in me has always warmed my heart and made me feel special.

Dad also has been loving and true to my dear mother for 43 years. Michelle Brimhall Cooley Thousand Oaks

My Father died in my arms at home, and I was his nurse the last week of his life.

I loooove my dad because he is the best storyteller I ever knew. One time he told me a story about a fairy that made friends with me. She was captured by a boy, but finally came back. He's really good at drawing, too. He once drew a chipmunk that looked wonderful! He also does so much for me.

As I said, dads are the best thing you could ever imagine. Rebecca Meitler Newbury Park

My dad, Tom Kelley, did not have the luxury of a role model, good or bad.

He must have missed that tremendously growing up, for the standards he set for himself were what every child would dream of in a father. Supportive ("You can accomplish anything if you really want to"), loving ("Hey Pumpkin!" melts my heart to this day), fiercely protective ("I'll always back you up no matter what, but I better never catch you lying!")

As an adult I admire everything about him, his loving marriage, his kindness, optimism, curiosity, love of learning. He is and always has been my rock, and I love him dearly! Deborah Kennedy Newbury Park

Another fond memory is that my dad always discusses math and science homework with me. I love having him home on weekends to have long intellectual talks. Patrick Vandenberg, 17, Thousand Oaks

Joe Fingleton, our Dad is special, honorable and forthright. A military veteran, his career in civil law spanned years of L.A. street beat enforcement through court room battles as an attorney helping families and injured persons. His giving nature shows his continual sacrifice for people. Injured on duty, he has persevered through challenging physical conditions, he is the bionic man-- strong and wise. Like Superman, he has always been a guiding role model. We wish him many years of health and happiness. Thank you for your sacrifices in life, you have truly changed the world. We love you Dad/ Papa. My dad is special, funny, awesome and nice. The words go on forever. He always turns my frowns upside-down. He is there when I'm sad, glad, mad or hurt. He helps me in times when I need help and sits with me at night when I am going to bed. He always plays with me softball, basketball, tennis and much more, my dad is like a kid. He is so funny and loves to tickle me too. We love to play board and card games at night and we love watching movies and TV together.
