Residents help cops capture burglary suspects A Thousand Oaks woman found a burglar in her home when she arrived at 2:41 p.m. Wed., June 7 in the 3400 block of Radcliffe Road. A man later identified as Miguel Ramos, 25, of Simi Valley had allegedly kicked open a rear door to the house and was in the process of stealing jewelry and a camera. He was upstairs when the woman arrived home. When she saw him, she screamed. The woman's husband heard his wife and chased Ramos down a nearby street. Neighbors heard the commotion and joined the pursuit as Ramos scurried over walls and ran through several backyards. Authorities arrived in a helicopter and with a K-9 unit. Ramos was eventually found hiding in the bushes. An alleged accomplice, Joe Soto Jr., 27, of Castaic was also apprehended when he attempted to help Ramos from a car. Both men had been soliciting door-to-door for a home improvement marketing company. Nobody was injured. Both suspects were booked into East County Jail on suspicion of conspiracy and residential burglary. Bail for each man was set at $50,000. |
