Theater company sets up scholarship fund Class Act Musical Theatre in Woodland Hills has established a new scholarship to help support young actors. The event was marked with a special one-time performance of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," presented by Class Act alumni on May 6. The Allen Memorial Scholarship is named after the late Larry Allen, the original owner of the theater. He passed away in 2005 from stomach cancer and is survived by his wife and theater coowner, Traci, and his sons, Taylor and Trevor. Class Act will match every dollar donated to the Allen Memorial Scholarship. Donors giving $250 or more will have their name inscribed on the donor wall and receive free tickets and advertising on the theater's website. Tickets and advertising will also go to donors giving $150 to $300. Those giving $5 to $150 will receive recognition on the theater's website. Class Act is a community theatre and the scholarship is dedicated to helping children who show an interest in the performing arts. For more information on shows, scholarship donations, or volunteering, call (818) 7036364 or visit the website at www.classacttheatre.net. |
