Tea and auction helped K9 unit

We would like to enlighten your readers with regards to a fundraiser held May 7 at the Kelly Park Clubhouse, Newbury Park, to raise funds for the Ventura County Sheriff's K9 Division. This division is not funded by the county, and depends upon outside funds to purchase the dogs, their protective equipment, healthcare and other needs.

Our group of civic minded women hosted an afternoon tea and silent auction. The event, which sold out to 60 guests, was extremely successful, having raised over $4,200.

On Tues., May 16 our group presented these funds to representatives of the Ventura County Sheriff's K9 Division, their K9 partners included. These funds are being donated to further assist in the longevity of this program.
