Cellphone tower criticism totally unfounded People who want to stop installing cellphone antennas cannot point to any scientifically accepted study that shows any harm from cellphone towers. To the contrary, the Centers for Disease Control and other federal agencies have studied this subject extensively and have found no connection between cellphone towers and disease. What people miss is the benefits to our community from these towers. Insufficient towers result in dropped calls both for our residents and for people driving along the 23 Freeway. Insufficient towers result in our cellphones not working reliably in our homes and on our property depriving us of valuable 911 service, including during electric power outages. Insufficient towers will result on limitations on advanced WiFi services which are especially important to people living in areas were SBC (now AT&T) do not provide Thousand Oaks households DSL service. Supporting new cell towers will result in our residents having better more reliable commutations services and more economical communications options. Harold Protter Thousand Oaks |
