Four lost hikers rescued by police

Four men got lost on Thurs., May 12 and were rescued by the Ventura County Sheriff 's Department's East Valley Search and Rescue unit.

They went hiking in the Rancho Sierra Vista area of T.O. in the afternoon without sufficient water or food. They intended to hike from Newbury Park to the Circle X Boy Scout Camp. They got lost on the trail near

Boney Mountain and had used all of their water by sunset when they called for help.

Authorities responded, found them, and provided food, water and extra clothes before leading them to safety.

Three of the lost hikers were from Newbury Park: David West, 20, Mike Robertson, 20, and Chase Jaynes, 21. Andrew Murphy, 17, was from T.O.
