Superintendent praised at benefit

Conejo Valley Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Robert Fraisse was the honored guest at a fundraising reception sponsored by Adopt-A-Future Foundation at Boccaccio's Restaurant in Westlake Village on May 2.

About 60 people gathered on the restaurant's lakefront patio to enjoy appetizers and live jazz music.

Fraisse, who is leaving his post in August to accept a position with California Lutheran University, was given citations celebrating his four years with the school district.

Presenters included Ventura County Supervisor Linda Parks, Board Chair of the Conejo Recreation & Park District Joe Gibson, and Neighborhood for Learning Executive Director Brenda Hunter.

Hunter presented Fraisse with a quilted wall hanging created by preschool children in the district.

The Adopt-A-Future Foundation benefits Neighborhood for Learning, the family services and early education program for Conejo Valley.
