Chamber singers perform comic classic

The Oaks Chamber Singers will present Gilbert and Sullivan's comic operetta "H.M.S Pinafore" at 7:30 p.m. Sun., May 21 in the Scherr Forum Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.

Admission ranges from $14 to $20. Tickets are available at the Civic Arts Plaza box office by calling (805) 449-2787.

The show will feature Craig Gilmore, tenor, playing the role

of Ralph. Robert West is the narrator, with a cast of "all stars" from the chamber singers.

Gilmore is a member of the touring company "Opera A La Carte" which specializes in Gilbert and Sullivan operettas.

Other soloists in the program will include Susan Frye as

osephine, Steve Johnson as the captain, Ed Ehlinger Sr. as Joseph Porter, Elaine Crandall as Buttercup, Glenda Clift as Hebe, Bill Lortz as Dick Deadeye, Ron Borgwardt as the carpenter, and Kyung Tae Kim as the boatswain.

Annette Murphy is the director and Soon Seop Kim is accompanist.
