Soroptomists host Margarita Mix-off

Soroptimist International of the Conejo will host its fifth annual Margarita Mix-off from 6 to 8 p.m. Thurs., May 18 at Conejo Creek Park, Thousand Oaks.

Local eateries competing in five categories will be: Tierra Rejada Golf Club, Dakota's Steakhouse and the Elephant Bar in Simi Valley; Borderline and

BJ's Brewhouse, the Crown & Anchor British Bar and Eatery in Thousand Oaks; Money Pancho in Camarillo and Calabasas; The Alamo in Newbury Park and Agoura Hills; and others.

There will be a People's Choice Award, and a local judging panel deciding the "Best Margarita in the West."

Other awards will go to Best Blended, Best On the Rocks, Best Presentation, Best Hors d'oeuvres, Best Entertainment, and Best Booth.

Price of admission includes all drinks and many food varieties. Beer and wine and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available.

Tickets are $25 advance purchase or $30 at the door.
