Talk covers role of Jews, presidents

The Conejo Jewish Academy will host a lecture, "American Presidents and the Jews," at 8 p.m. Mon., May 15 at 30345 Canwood St., Agoura Hills. Admission is $10. For reservations call (818) 991-0991.

Historian and former FBI special agent Arthur Coppel will look at American presidents and their relationship with the Jewish people. Coppel's study will range from George Washington to Lyndon Johnson.

He will discuss the role of Jews in Colonial America, in the Civil War, on foreign policy in the 1930s, on Truman, and post-1948 presidential relations with Jews and Israel.
