Home invasion robberies reported in T.O., Newbury Park

The Thousand Oaks Police Department announced earlier this week that there were two home invasion incidents, one on Sunday and one on Monday.

At 11:44 a.m. Sun., May 7, deputies responded to the home of Judith Silver, 66, in the 3200 block of Sawtooth Court in T.O. Silver had only been gone for 20 minutes when she returned and discovered two Hispanic males, both in their mid 20s, inside her house. The pair tied the victim's hands and rummaged through her home for about 30 minutes before fleeing with $1,600 cash. Silver eventually freed herself and called 911. She had minor injuries to her face.

Police were also summoned to a home in the 600 block of Avenida de La Plata in Newbury Park at 1 p.m. Mon., May 8 after two Hispanic males, one in his 40s and the other in his 30s, forced an adult male to open his door and then handcuffed him. Jewelry and an undisclosed amount of cash were stolen. The intruders both displayed handguns and fled in a red minivan.

The older suspect had a heavy build and a beard. The younger suspect was thin and had a dark complexion.

Anyone with information about either incident is asked to call (805) 494-8255.
