Riders can get accurate arrival times on TOT system As of May 5, transit riders could schedule their time more efficiently when taking Thousand Oaks Transit (TOT), thanks to the NextBus Information System. Passengers can plan their trips down to the minute, deciding if they should rush to the bus stop or choose another location that works better. TOT vehicles have been fitted with the NextBus satellite tracking technology so the location of all buses is recorded. Predictions of accurate bus arrival times is displayed at the Thousand Oaks Transit Center, over the Internet and on wireless connections. "The city of Thousand Oaks looks forward to enhancing the community's bus service by providing real-time arrival and departure predictions," said city of Thousand Oaks Public Works Director Mark Watkins.”By making these predictions available to the public, we hope to see an increase in ridership." TOT joins other Ventura County fixed-route providers such as Ventura Intercity Service Transit Authority (VISTA), South Coast Area Transit (SCAT), Moorpark City Transit and Simi Valley Transit in providing the GPS-based technology. TOT customers can also visit www.NextBus.com or www. TOTransit.org, and click on the NextBus link for updated bus times and locations. TOT operates Mondays through Fridays from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and offers four routes serving Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park and Westlake Village.
