Students invited to register at libraries to become a ribbon-cutting assistant The Thousand Oaks Library has announced an opportunity for children in kindergarten through eighth grade to enter to win a position as "ribbon-cutter assistant" for the grand opening ceremonies of the Grant R. Brimhall Library Children's Expansion. The ribbon-cutting will be at 10 a.m. on Sat., June 24 at the library, 1401 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks. To enter the drawing, children beginning kindergarten through eighth grade must come to the Children's and Young Adults' Information desk at either the Grant R. Brimhall Library or Newbury Park Branch Library and fill out an entry form between May 1 and June 11. Every child who enters must have a Thousand Oaks Library card of his or her own, and be available for the June 24 ceremony. Only one entry per child is permitted.
