Lecture addresses workings of eye

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Buena Ventura Chapter/Engineering for Medicine and Biology will host Dr. Matt McMahon, principal scientist of Second Sight, Inc. during their meeting at 7 p.m. Wed., April 26 in Richter Hall in the Ahmanson Science Building on the California Lutheran University campus, 60 W. Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks.

McMahon will provide an intimate view of the eye, its operations and its remarkable power. He'll discuss Second Sight's retinal prosthesis and its potential to help those with macular degeneration and retinitis pigmentosa.

The meeting is open to engineers, students, medical professionals and all interested community members. Dinner is available at 6 p.m. at a cost of $10. Admission to the meeting is free.
