Expert to discuss good sportsmanship Dr. Darrell Burnett, a clinical and sports psychologist specializing in youth sports, will speak about parents learning to maintain a balance between under and over involvement in their child's sports activities at the next Parent Talk Lecture Series, sponsored by Conejo Valley Adult School. His discussion, "Parenting the Good Sport: Youth, Sports, and Self-Esteem," will be presented from 7 to 9 p.m. Tues., April 25 at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1600 E. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks. Recognized by the Institute for International Sport as a National Sports Ethics Fellow for "his efforts in promoting ethics and fair play in youth sports," Burnett is also the author of "It's Just a Game! Youth, Sports, and Self Esteem: A Guide for Parents." He will show parents how critical their role is in offering positive support to their children, and discuss ways to become models of good sportsmanship. Admission is $15 presale or $20 at the door.
