Chili Cook-off is coming

Conejo Valley Days' 31st annual Chili Cook-off, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Thousand Oaks, will be presented from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sun., April 30 at Conejo Creek Park in Thousand Oaks (Route 23 Freeway at the Janss Road exit).

Those attending will get a chance to sample more than 50 different types of chili in a festive, fun atmosphere with music, entertainment and a children's play area.

The chili selected as the "best chili" by a panel of judges from the International Chili Society will advance to the 2006 World Championships.

Admission is $6; children 12 and under, free.

A "Whiskeroo Contest" to determine the Conejo Valley's best beard will be at 1 p.m. The contest seeks to award individuals with the best beard, softest beard, scruffiest beard, fullest beard, best mustache and most unique mustache.
