Camp open for 26th year Camp Gan Israel is the largest network of Jewish camps in the world. Camp Gan Israel of the Conejo has been in existence for a quarter century. Rabbi Yisroel Levine, camp director, said the camp provides the best of summer fun in a warm and caring Jewish environment. Camp Gan Israel will be conducted on the campus of White Oak Elementary School in Westlake Village. The camp provides children with a positive Jewish experience and the opportunity to develop a sense of pride in their Jewish heritage. The schedule includes drama, music, karate, sports, crafts, stories, contests, Challah baking, swimming, songs and spirit. Specialty instruction is provided by skilled, dedicated professionals committed to creating a special bond with campers. Weekly trips, late nights and weekend Shabbaton retreats highlight the seven-week "Adventure of a Lifetime" program. Camp Gan Israel dates are July 3 to Aug. 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday. Partial attendance is welcome. Door-to-door transportation is available from Calabasas through Camarillo and an optional daily hot lunch program is offered. To receive a brochure, call Levine at (818) 991-0991. |
