Annual Strawberry Festival needs volunteers

Organizers with the 23rd annual California Strawberry Festival are looking for volunteers to help out in various ways at the event on Sat. and Sun., May 20 and 21 at Strawberry Meadows of College Park, 3250 S. Rose Ave., Oxnard. The deadline to receive an application is Fri., April 21. Applications may be downloaded via the festival website at www.strawberry-fest.org.

Benefiting the community and honoring Ventura County's agricultural heritage, the festival offers local enthusiasts who are 14 years of age or older the chance to become a member of the volunteer task force and receive free entry to the festival

Volunteer greeters, shortcake tent helpers, contest assistants, and more are needed. All applicants must attend a mandatory meeting and orientation at 7 p.m. Mon., May 8 in the Ventura Room at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center, 800 Hobson Way.
