Young musicians can sign up for camp Conejo Valley Summer Music Camp is open to musicians ages 11 to 15 who have been playing their instrument for at least one year and are interested in rehearsing and performing with other musicians. The camp is open to all instrumentalists. It is conducted in the band and chorus rooms at Thousand Oaks High School, 2323 Moorpark Road, Thousand Oaks. There are two sessions, and each two-week session includes wind ensemble, small ensemble, harmony and jazz band. Session I is from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 3 to 14. Session II is from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 17 to 27. Tuition is $260 per session; $235 for each sibling attending the same session. During Sessions I and II aftercamp workshops in brass, woodwind, jazz improvisation and understanding rhythm are offered on specified days from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at a cost of $75 per workshop. Each camp session will culminate with a performance in the high school's Performing Arts Center. Janine Delwarte, a professional woodwind player and composer, is the camp director.
